Parke Gordon Law Firm is Helping Hurricane Harvey Victims

Parke Gordon Law Firm has donated to the American Red Cross to help Hurricane Harvey victims. Hurricane Harvey hit as a category 4 (out of a scale of 5) hurricane flooding several cities in Texas on August 252017. The hurricane season of 2017 will go down in history as one of the worst natural disasters in U.S. history. Hurricane Harvey was the first major hurricane to hit land in the United States since 2005.Two weeks after Hurricane Harvey, Hurricane Irma hit, also a category 4 storm, impacting Florida, Georgia, South Carolina and Puerto Rico. Puerto Rico was then hit again on September 2by Hurricane Maria, also a category 4 storm, causing catastrophic damage. The damage caused by these hurricanes has been the most extensive of all time.

Damages Caused by Hurricane Harvey

The damages caused by Hurricane Harvey are around $290 billion including the cost of recovery work, property damage, business damages, increased unemployment as well as other factors. Hurricane Harvey also caused at least 77 confirmed deaths, most of which were drownings. One in Guyanna and 76 in the United States.

Texas

In Texas, over 48,700 homes were affected by Hurricane Harvey. Texas Department of Public Safety stated that 9,000 homes were completely destroyed and another 185,000 homes were damaged. In addition, more than 300,000 people went without electricity.
