Seven-Vehicle Chain Reaction Crash Near Boise

Idaho State Police reported a 7-vehicle chain reaction crash near Boise which caused multiple fatalities. The car accident occurred when a semi-truck and SUV slowed for construction traffic on Interstate 84. Four other vehicles also slowed but a commercial semi truck failed to see the delayed traffic and stuck the other vehicles from behind causing a chain reaction crash. Authorities say at least one of the vehicles caught fire from the crash. The fire damages an overpass that crosses the interstate. Idaho Transportation Department officials say the overpass will be closed until crews have a chance to survey the damage.
