Washington State Patrol reported a car accident in Spokane involving a car driving at night without headlights. The car reportedly hit a truck and injured both drivers. The driver of the truck was taken to the hospital for evaluation of injuries. WSP say the driver of the car was injured but not taken to the hospital. Drugs or alcohol is said to be involved in the crash. The driver of the car was charged with vehicular assault for failing to yield the right of way.

Washington Rules of the Road state that headlights are to be used on all vehicles a half hour after sunset and a half hour before sunrise as well as at any time when there is insufficient light or due to weather.
