Series of Hit-and-Run Car Crashes in Meridian Ends in a Multi-Vehicle Crash

Meridian Police reported a series of hit-and-run car crashes in Meridian that ended in a multi-vehicle crash at the intersection of Cole Road and Emerald Street in west Boise. Deputy Chief Tracy Basterrechea said the driver of a blue passenger vehicle hit a suburban on I-84 and then hit a van on the exit of Meridian Road and I-84. The driver then processed north on Meridian Road and ended up eastbound on Franklin Road where they hit an additional two vehicles at Franklin and Eagle. Continuing eastbound, the driver then ended up going north on Cole where they were involved in a serious car accident involving multiple vehicles. Police said a driver and their passenger both had to be extricated from their smashed vehicle. Cole Road was blocked from Fairview Avenue to Barrister Driver as well as another nearby intersection was closed while crews worked to clear the wreckage.

If I’m Injured in a Hit-and-Run Car Crash, What Should I Do?

If you are able, there are certain steps to take after a hit-and-run car crash to increase the likelihood of finding the at-fault driver and obtaining compensation for your injuries and damages. Look to Parke Gordon Law Firm in Boise to help you seek insurance payments and hold the other driver accountable for damages, injuries and for fleeing the scene.

While at the Accident Scene

While still at the accident scene, document as much as you can by doing the following.

  • Call the police. Even if the at-fault driver has fled the scene you still want the police to come out so a police report can be made.
  • Take photos of the accident scene such as skid marks, broken glass, damages to your vehicle as well as any other vehicles involved.
  • Talk to witnesses and obtain their contact information (name and phone number).

Be Examined by a Medical Care Professional

After an accident, make sure to visit a medical professional to document your injuries. Tel the doctor of any injuries even if you think they are just minor. Medical records can later serve as evidence for your case.

Keep All Documentation

Keeping copies of important documents such as the police report, medical records, and receipts from car repairs can be helpful to your attorney to get you more compensation.
